About Organic King of Pu Erh

Earthy, woody, and utterly unique in flavour, this fully organic Pu-erh tea is both healthy and vibrant. Crafted through a meticulous fermentation process that activates its health-boosting properties, this tea is a testament to skilled craftsmanship. Made from the freshest tea buds, it ages for over six years, developing remarkable depth and complexity. A truly exceptional tea that reveals its distinctive quality with every sip.

About Pu Erh

Pu Erh is a highland region in southwestern China, where tea has been cultivated for over 1,700 years. Traditionally, Pu Erh tea is made from the leaves of the Qingmao tree, a plant that can grow up to 30 metres tall and live for over 800 years. The long history and extraordinary origins of this tea are just some of the reasons why Pu Erh tea is so highly valued. Its special ageing and preparation processes make it a treasured rarity among tea enthusiasts. Like fine cheese or wine, Pu Erh tea matures over many years. Some of the most prized varieties are aged for over 70 years. The ageing process, based on fermentation, typically lasts between five and ten years—and even after that, it continues to develop, adding to the distinctiveness of Pu Erh tea.

Cultivation

Organic Pu Erh is cultivated in the renowned tea gardens of Yunnan Province, China, a region celebrated for its exceptional tea varieties. The unique climate and fertile soils of this region provide the ideal conditions for growing this special tea. After careful hand-picking, the tea undergoes a natural drying and fermentation process that maximises its health benefits and rich aroma.

Effects

Pu Erh tea is credited with a variety of positive health effects. It can help lower cholesterol levels, regulate blood pressure, and has a mild appetite-suppressing effect. In China, it is often valued as an aid for weight management. Its digestive benefits make it ideal after heavy meals, and its antioxidant properties contribute to the body's detoxification process.

How to Enjoy

Enjoy this Organic Pu Erh tea after a hearty meal to support your digestion. Its earthy and woody aroma pairs beautifully with savoury dishes like grilled vegetables or mild cheese. For an especially soothing experience, you can enhance the tea with a touch of honey. Try it out as a Cold Brew (and even pair with wild mushrooms).
