About Rose Petal Black Tea

A Chinese black tea grown in Fuding, Fujian in tea gardens surrounded by bamboo and cypress forests. This tea is a blend of different cultivars grown here which is then fired by hand in hot pans by skilled tea makers overlooked by the management of Ms Geng, the tea master. The leaves are blended with naturally vibrant rose petals and fragranced with a touch of natural rose scent to create an intoxicating rose aroma and flavour, underpinned by malty black tea.

About Fuding

Fuding is a centre of tea production in Fujian, growing and creating black, white and oolong teas. While the area is famed for being the home of true white tea production, the skill of the artisans here and history the area holds means that their mastery of tea-making is highly regarded irrespective of the type.

Cultivation

This blend of cultivars are grown in bioperse gardens at a gentle elevation of 300m. Pan firing by hand is an ancient skill that is still common throughout China as one of the best ways to manage the tea leaves through the process of heat to lock the tea in its final stages.

Effects

Black tea is great for heart health as they are packed with flavonoids, and rose has long been used in Chinese medicine to open the heart and improve blood flow. The romantic quality of this tea is soothing for the senses, too.

How to Enjoy

Enjoy the decadence of the occasion by pairing this tea with rich chocolate brownies or cakes, or light, juicy fruit like lychees or strawberries in the afternoon.
