Tea connoisseurs appreciate it for its delicate and refined character. The flavour of this tea is elegant, wonderfully smooth, mild, and subtly sweet—truly a tea of the highest quality.

About Silver Needle tea

Silver Needle tea, also known as Bai Hao Yinzhen, is one of the most prestigious white tea varieties in China. Often referred to as the ‘King of White Teas’ it is cherished for its mild yet rich flavour and fine floral notes. The tea derives its name from the fine, silvery hairs covering the buds, giving them a distinguished, silvery sheen.

Cultivation

This White Bud Silver Needle is cultivated in the high-altitude tea gardens of Guangxi Province. The young buds are handpicked in the spring before they open, then gently dried. This meticulous handpicking and processing contribute to the exceptional quality of this tea. The production process is traditional, avoiding rolling or fermentation to preserve the tea's natural purity and freshness.

Effects

This white tea is rich in antioxidants, which help protect the body from free radicals and have anti-inflammatory effects. The caffeine content, present because of the tea plant’s natural response when its tasty buds are threatened by pests. provides a light, yet uplifting effect, which is also calming. In China, white teas are heralded as a kind of medicine, especially as they age.

How to enjoy

This incredible tea reveals its full aroma in quiet moments, whether in the morning or early afternoon, but is particularly good first thing as an alternative to coffee.
